The Hyundai D4BB is the 2.6-liter naturally aspirated diesel engine fitted to the Hyundai H100, Porter, Grace, Galloper and Starex (H-1), as well as the Kia Bongo and Kia Pregio. It is an enlarged 4D56-derived unit with a cast-iron block and an aluminum 8-valve cylinder head.
Using a mechanical Zexel injection pump and belt-driven camshaft, the D4BB delivers 78 to 83 hp and 162 to 168 Nm of torque. Its naturally aspirated prechamber design makes it exceptionally simple, reliable and inexpensive to maintain.
Each unit is compression-tested, leak-checked and inspected before shipment.
